Description
The echinus is decorated on both sides. Each feature 2 eggs set off-centre with palmettes to either side, a palmette between them, and two downward pointing darts. On one face, the left-most palmette has either been shaved down after repairs or was never added due to the awkward spatial position of the motif. The bolster is plainly decorated and the balteus features a simple astragal. Ancient repairs include a large clamp across the abacus of one side, a further clamp on another, and a large dowel positioned through the centre of the capital to hold it together. A significant amount of lead has been used in this repair.
